A Foolproof Way To Track Work TimeIf you have a small business you may have had problems with making sure your employees are coming in promptly and spending enough time on the job to get the work done. There are time clocks to consider but you were probably hesitant about installing one.

The biggest concern associated with time clocks is having to keep track of all those time cards and making sure employees punch in properly. If not punched in the right place on the card the stamp may be hard to read. Then there’s the paper trail: what do you do with all those cards? Where do you keep them all? It’s a major nuisance for everyone, employees and managers alike.

Well, GHG Corporation has managed to take the paper trail away and streamline the timekeeping process. The company has come out with an electronic time clock that scans hands, called the HandPunch. The device implements what the company refers to as “biometric hand punch technology”, meaning that it identifies each employee by the size and shape of the hand with a high-tech 3D scanning process. The scan takes a fraction of a second to accomplish, and once you get the green light you know that your identity was verified.

The HandPunch more importantly eliminates what is known as “time fraud”, whereby an employee punches in or out for someone else when not on the job. The time clock stores in its memory each person’s unique hand print, and if there isn’t a precise match you can’t punch in. It’s that simple. Some handy time tracking software is also included.

There are four models of the HandPunch available, and they differ in the number of offered options, for instance employee access to time records and various managerial functions by pressing keys on the top of the unit.
