Motorola Rokr E8: Best Of CES Award
The Motorola Rokr E8 is a phone that many people were waiting for and with good reason. During CES 2008 it received the Best of CES award in the smartphones category and that’s quite a victory for Motorola.
What makes the phone standout is that it’s the first music cell phone by Motorola which features a 2.0 QVGA 240×320 262K color TFT display, 2.0 mega pixel camera, 3.5mm stereo headset jack, Bluetooth (A2DP), USB 2.0 and MOTOMAGX a.k.a Linux-Java as the OS platform. It looks really stylish and is comfortable in hands, but one of the best things is its cell keypad which Motorola calls the Haptics Keypad.
Here’s what Phone Lover reports.
It gives better feel when pressing the button. When your phone is on normal mode, the keypad will show the digits with the white color backlight on. While if you’re on music player, the backlight will only show the necessary keys eg: play, pause, forward and backward. In the middle of the phone, there is a fastScroll navigation wheel that allows for scrolling through songs, contact and image library with the slide of a thumb. So user friendly for a music phone.
An interesting feature of the Rokr E8 has is its airplane-mode that allows you to listen music when you are pretty high in the airplane. Moreover you can listen to music on phone even without the SIM card inserted, so it’s also a stand-alone mp3 player as well. Here’s what Mobile88 thinks about the phone.
We can say that the E8 is a really good music phone. We have 2GBs of storage inside the phone and an option to increase this with memory cards. The phone itself is sleek and has the audio jack on the top of the phone.
