The Chinese iPhone Clones
The iPhone clone is a Chinese imitation of the world-famous iPhone. But the Chinese should have thought twice before trying to outdo the successful brand.
Of course, the reason of the introduction of these new cell phones is clear — China wants its people to use only “homemade” products. But, in order to compete with the iPhone, they should have at least tried to match it in quality.
iPhone clones look very much like the original iPhone mobile phone models but have some shortcomings. The one thing it does have going for it is the price–costing as much as one-fifth less than the iPhone. The New York Times reported that it sells for between $100 and $150. Plus, it can work with any SIM card.
But I heard through the grapevine that there are quite a few disadvantages with the iPhone clone. For starters, just logging in to use it takes a lot of effort, perhaps because of the low quality of the touchscreen. Those clones that offer a dual SIM card option don’t work well– it’s rare that both of the cards are recognized at the same time. In short, these phones are not user-friendly.
My own iPhone clone (it is possible to buy them on the Internet as I unfortunately did it) is now lying in a drawer somewhere — unused after three months, and my case is not unique. So if you eventually decide to buy Chinese mobile phones, better do your research and think twice before investing in one.
