Laser TV Made By Mitshubishi
Mitsubishi is well-known when it comes to cars, but the Japanese manufacturer also offers some serious products when it comes to consumer electronics.
During CES2008, for example, Mitsubishi attracted people with its new Laser TV. The television offers a completely new technology to sit alongside High Definition TV’s. Using a laser for projecting an image onto the back of the screen, it performs better than any LCD or plasma. Here’s what MediaMentalism reports.
The result is an image that is much sharper and much more colourful than standard HDTVs, and much bigger too, as laser TV is able to scale to much bigger formats than existing technology.
This is great news for consumers if Mitsubishi managed to overcome the limitation of standard HDTVs, but the situation is not entirely ideal as it’s about ten inches deep in size and looks like a huge CRT TV. On the other hand, thinner Laser TVs are probably just a matter of time.
Consumer Electronics Daily News reports what Frank DeMartin, Vice President said during the presentation of the Laser TV.
Several TV manufacturers have attempted to bring laser TV to market, and have failed. Making laser TV a reality represents yet another history-making milestone in a long legacy of industry firsts for Mitsubishi.
