3D At Home: Meet Summer With Sony
This summer Sony will release its new Bravia LCD HD televisions line featuring 3D. The line is comprised of 38 models sizing from 40 to 60 inches (measured diagonally).
Sony’s new Monolithic Design is one of the innovations featuring this new line. This is a new approach to electronics design with a somewhat solid inclination.
The leading and the most expensive series of the line is XBR-LX900. It does full 1080p 3D via active shutter glasses and the 3D transmitter. This is the only model of the line that includes 3d glasses and a 3D transmitter build in, so you don’t have to buy them separately.
The model features Edge LED Backlit, which spreads the light even behind the screen. The local dimming reduces the possible leakage of light and also increases the color contrast.
The Motionflow Pro 240Hz motion compensation technology delivers plain and sleek images even in a very fast moving content.
This is the first model featuring Sony’s new Opticontrast panel. There is a resin sheet between the LCD display panel and the glass plate. It is meant to minimize the reflection of external light so that to deliver deeper images and pure colors even in very bright room conditions.
Sony’s Intelligent Presence Sensor with face detection is another new application featuring LX900. The sensor is meant to detect whether you are in the viewing arena or not. If you go away for a while the backlit is automatically dimmed. If you don’t come back for some period of time, the detector automatically turns the TV off. This sensor features Position Control, which detects the viewer’s position so that to optimize the video and sound balance. The Distance Alert feature of the sensor helps to keep kids at a proper distance from the screen.
The model also features Sonny’s Bravia Sync, which operates easily with other Bravia Syncdevices, playback of personal data via USB or “Digital Living Network Alliance” (DLNA) certified home networks. It also has an integrated Wi-Fi that enables your easy access to Bravia Internet videos, Bravia internet widgets and your DLNA.
LX900 series seem very promising with all its exceptional features and applications. Sony confirmed that the whole new line will be available this summer. The price is not determined yet.
