ARES CG6150: ASUS First Gaming Station
Look at this monster. It’s the first gaming desktop by ASUS, a brand well-known for its high-quality PC components.
A few years ago, ASUS started producing its own ASUS LCD monitors, but has now built a complete gaming desktop called the ARES CG6150. Just one look at the case is enough to understand that what’s on the inside is probably as impressive as the exterior.
Until recently, there wasn’t any info on what was lurking inside this beauty, but now Engadget has published details.
Details are in. Under the armor you’ll find a Core 2 Extreme CPU with support for up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, NVIDIA’s 3-way SLI graphic technology, up to 4 Terabytes of hard disk, Dual Power power modules and liquid cooling.
As you would guess it’s pretty powerful and the new motherboard and graphics card are ASUS branded. Although the price is not yet known, a fair guesstimate would put it somewhere around $2,000. During CeBIT, we’ll learn more, but for a debut into the PC and especially gaming market, it looks and sounds impressive.
