Logitech MX 1100 Cordless Mouse Hasn’t Reached Its Peak Yet
Logitech MX 1100 Cordless Laser Mouse is one of the biggest revolutions at Logitech in the past two years. It has evolved from the Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse (Logitech’s last wireless mouse). But it has certainly lost a big feature when comparing with the latter one, it’s not rechargeable.
Logitech laser cordless mouse worked on rechargeable batteries, which were included in the basic package together with a recharging station. Once the batteries were empty, the only thing you needed to do was put them into the recharging station and plug it in and voila, more battery life. The newer version, Logitech laser cordless mouse, comes with a nine-month long lasting battery, and you will need to replace the battery when it’s expired. However, if you purchase the full package, logitech keyboard and mouse, called Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave Pro, you will get a USB plug, which allows you to fully recharge your mouse while you are working, without interrupting your work. A 15-minute charge will let you work a whole day, but if you give it a 7-hour charge, then you have nothing to worry about during the next six weeks. Or you can just plug the USB cable into the AC adaptor, which is included, and use any wall outlet. The basic package (just the mouse and adapter) will cost you $80 , but if you opt for the full package with the USB cable, you will be out of $130 .
The mouse is designed according to the naturally curved shape of your hand and is studded with a great number of buttons on it. The shape of the mouse allows it to fit your hand comfortably, making working with it a pleasure. The next noticeable change in the sculpt of the MX 1100 is its right edge, which bristles from the side a bit more than the MX Revolution, thus providing a more comfortable place for your little finger. The Logitech MX 1100 Cordless Laser Mouse functions are outstanding. Thanks to the number of its buttons, it gives you a wide range of functions at your fingertips. The scroll wheel has two scrolling modes, which includes hyper-fast scrolling and allows you to fly through long documents and Web pages easily. The free-spinning scrolling mechanism has slightly been changed: instead of pressing down on the wheel to start the free-spin mode, you push a small button in front of it. Logitech considers this method much more reliable. The sensitivity of this Logitech laser cordless mouse can be changed. It can be changed from 400dpi up to 1600dpi. Here is what cnet.com says about the mouse:
Perhaps the most genius new feature in the MX 1100 is the one that’s least noticeable. On the left side thumb rest, Logitech has actually embedded another button underneath the rubberized coating. You can’t see it, but pushing it feels completely natural. Its default setting is the Document Flip feature, Logitech’s own lightweight task manager, but as with every other button on the mouse, you can configure it via Logitech’s SetPoint software.
Even though this product has it’s downfalls, the nonrechargeable battery being it’s Achilles Heel, we can’t help noticing and mentioning the brilliancy of this invention. If you can afford it, opt for the full package and all your problems will be out the window. It’s a good start Logitech, the next improvements on it should be a lower price and including a rechargeable battery in the basic package.
